Oyo State Governor, Mr Seyi Makinde and the Caretaker Chairman, Afijio West LCDA, Hon Sunday Akindele Ojo have been commended by farmers in the Council Area for keeping to the promise made to them that the present administration would provide enabling environment for farmers in the area.
The commendation came as a result of grading all roads that connect to ILORA FARM SETTLEMENT which had been neglected for years by previous administrations.
The farmers said, “we appreciate His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde and our pragmatic and dynamic chairman, Hon Sunday Akindele Ojo for the relief this has brought to us.”
“These our roads had become death traps, it was no longer motorable, at rainy season, we wouldn’t be able to go to our various farms and it almost paralysed our economy.”
“Now we can go to our farms since it is the planting season, the roads are now motorable, we now have easy access to our farms and this will enable us to transport our farm produce to our various markets without any hitch. We thank God Almighty, we commend our Governor for giving us a reliable and industrious chairman,Hon Sunday Akindele Ojo who has been working day and night to ensure that our council area is rated among the best in the state.
On his part, the Chairman, Hon Sunday Akindele said the development of Afijio West Council Area is non-negotiable, adding that with the support of Governor Makinde, we shall attain the height will desire for our Council.
