Hon. Barr. Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu (Seun TNA), the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for the House of Representatives, Oyo Federal Constituency, on Thursday paid a thank-you visit to the APM General Meeting in Atiba Local Government, held at L.A. Primary School, Sabo.

Ashamu received a rousing welcome from party leaders, members, youths and supporters, who welcomed the candidate with drums and dancing in an atmosphere of excitement and solidarity.

In their welcome remarks, party leaders including the Acting BOT (Alhaji Quadri Olatunji), Iya Shola and Hon. Yomoco welcomed Ashamu and emphasised his longstanding relationship with Atiba. They noted that Ashamu was no stranger to the people of the Local Government, pointing to his record of service and interventions during his years as a member of the Oyo State Executive Council.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji, highlighted Ashamu’s contributions to development in Atiba, particularly his role in facilitating and advancing issues concerning the Local Government. Adetunji also appreciated His Excellency Governor Oluseyi Makinde for the recent road approvals in Atiba.

Responding, Ashamu thanked the leaders, party members and supporters for their continued support and expressed his readiness for the task ahead. He urged the people of Atiba to remain united and support the APM in the forthcoming election.

Going beyond immediate relief, TNA announced 15 slots for beneficiaries from Atiba under an agribusiness support initiative. Selected participants will undergo practical agribusiness training at Fashola, after which they will receive start-up support to help translate the skills acquired into sustainable economic opportunities.

Ashamu also presented ₦500,000 and 15 bags of rice as immediate support for party members. In a show of solidarity, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji matched the ₦500,000 contribution, bringing the total cash support at the meeting to ₦1 million alongside the 15 bags of rice.

The initiative reflects Ashamu’s position that while immediate support has its place, political leadership must increasingly focus on sustainable empowerment that gives people the skills and opportunities required to build productive livelihoods.

The Atiba engagement also provided an opportunity for Ashamu to listen to party members and reaffirm his commitment to purposeful representation across Oyo Federal Constituency.

The meeting was attended by the Executive Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji, alongside prominent party leaders, stakeholders and members, including Alh. Olatunji Quadri, Baba Bode Alaja, Hon. Asiwaju, Mr Raheed, Alh. Suleiman Ajepe, Iya Sola, Iya Akinpelu, Alhaja Adebisi, Iya Adeleke, Mr Wale Ajibade, Baba Basiru, Mr Taofeeq, Alhaji Tesi Arunna, Mr Wasiu Salam, Baba Adeyemi, Mr Odugbemi, Baba Opeyemi, Mr Lateef Ese and Iya Victor.

As preparations for the 2027 election gather momentum, one message from the Atiba engagement was clear: effective representation must go beyond occupying a seat in Abuja to building relationships, creating opportunities and delivering tangible results for the people.

    Oyo Federal Constituency deserves capacity.
    Oyo Federal Constituency deserves connection.
Oyo Federal Constituency deserves purposeful representation.

    TNA CAN DO BETTER!
    OMỌ OLOORE 2027.
