From Ibadan to the World: Hon Hamed Adewale Ishola Pens  Heartfelt Message to Nigerians Everywhere

Today, I speak to you not as a politician, but as a fellow Nigerian, a son of Ibadan in Oyo State who grew up walking the same streets, feeling the same hopes, and experiencing the same struggles many of you face today. Though life has taken me to other parts of the world where systems work, where leadership is accountable, and where institutions are built to protect the people, my heart has never left home.

My thoughts and prayers go especially to the countless Nigerians enduring unbearable hardship: families displaced by bandits, communities grieving loved ones lost to violence, and citizens struggling daily with hunger, insecurity, and economic pressure. I see your pain. I feel your frustration. And I stand firmly with you.

No Nigerian deserves to live in fear. No parent should have to worry about their child being kidnapped on the way to school. No farmer should be afraid to go to the farm. No business owner should fear closing late. These challenges are not statistics; they involve real lives, real dreams, and real futures.

It is my earnest hope that as a people, we rise above these challenges with unity and wisdom. We must begin to make decisions that safeguard our future. I pray that Nigerians commit to choosing leaders with integrity, leaders whose track records show compassion, competence, and genuine service, not those who see public office as a personal business.

Let us investigate those who seek our votes, examine their history, their capacity, and their character.

And where we find no satisfaction, may we have the courage to unite and support credible, selfless candidates, men and women who have real plans, real vision, and the discipline not to be swallowed by the system they enter.

Nigeria belongs to all of us. Together, we must refuse to surrender it to those who do not have our best interest at heart.

May God comfort every family mourning a loss. May God strengthen every community affected by violence. May God restore security to our land and peace to our hearts. And may He guide us toward a future where leadership truly reflects the will and welfare of the people.

Nigeria will rise again, not because of one person, but because of the collective determination of her good people.

Compliments of the season and happy new year.

    Signed: Hamed Adewale Ishola
