In a bold move to strengthen rural infrastructure and agricultural commerce, the Oyo State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (Oyo RAAMP) has launched a strategic engagement session with stakeholders in Igboora, Ibarapa Central Local Government Area. The session is part of the preparatory phase for the rehabilitation of the popular Oja Oba Market Igboora.

The engagement held today at Oja oba Hall, Igboora in collaboration with the local government and host community leaders, aimed to deepen cooperation and ensure smooth implementation of the RAAMP initiative. The meeting brought together market stakeholders, community heads and government representatives to align on the goals and expectations of the project.

Delivering the goodwill message of Governor Engr Seyi Makinde, the RAAMP State Coordinator, Engr Mrs. Adeola Ekundayo urged the community to support the project wholeheartedly. She emphasized the Governor’s commitment to inclusive development and noted that community collaboration is essential for the project’s success.

The Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Olusola Adeleke in his remarks congratulated the market traders and residents of Igboora for being part of this important developmental drive. He extended his heartfelt appreciation to Governor Engr Seyi Makinde for recognizing and prioritizing Ibarapa Central in the state’s rural development agenda.

Hon. Adeleke highlighted the peaceful and cooperative nature of the Igboora community, assuring the RAAMP team of a welcoming and supportive environment throughout the course of the project. He affirmed the local government’s readiness to partner fully for the benefit of the people and urged community members to give their maximum support.

Also speaking at the event, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Titiloye, commended Governor Makinde for his consistent support of rural communities and praised the RAAMP team for their professionalism. The traditional ruler encouraged community members to rally behind the project, describing it as a transformational initiative that will benefit generations to come.

The RAAMP intervention is expected to improve access to markets, enhance rural livelihoods and boost economic activities across the region through upgraded infrastructure and sustainable agricultural support systems.
