Grand Council of Yoruba Youths condoles with Dapo Abiodun

There are 2 unavoidable and important occasions in human existence. These are “Day of Birth” and the last day of our existence, when we will bid this sinful World, bye! “Day of Death”.

According to a Yoruba adage, “ki i de ba ni, ki a yeri”, which means “we can not run away from our destiny”. This is to formally condole with our big Brother, the hardworking and People’s Governor of Ogun State, Prine (Dr) Dapo Abiodun, his family and Ogun State at large over the demise of his caring and supportive father, Dr Emmanuel Adesanya Abiodun, who was fondly called “Baba Teacher” during his lifetime. Our own Baba Teacher was a complete Disciplinarian, who imparted the right values and impacted positively not only on his Children but also on his Students in all Schools he taught across the States of the defunct Western Region of Nigeria and will forever be remembered for dedication of selfless service to his Community and Humanity at large and it gladdens our hearts that his loving Son, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun has been spreading dividends of Democracy across the State for over 2 years in line with the Philosophy of his Late father.

This is a very painful and irreparable loss, but everything must happen according to the wish of Almighty God but we took solace in the fact he left indelible inks in the sand of time. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

It’s now exactly Four years, that a renowned Cultural Ambassador of Yorubaland and 1 of the most Dignified Mentors of our Group, Alagba Adebayo Faleti, OON, passed on and for decades to come, his works, in the World of media, Literature, and Nonyhood will continue to live on and be coveted by everybody.

Though painful, but he died as Hero and he continue to rest on as Hero through his legacy. It is extremely difficult for us to remember Alagba Adebayo Faleti without thinking of his Late Cultural Siamese Twin, our another Mentor, Ojogbon (Prof) Akinwumi Isola. May their gentle souls continue to rest in peace.

August 26 – 27 have been set aside for the burial of a Veteran Actress, Rachel Oniga, who passed on last Friday, at age of 64, in Lagos State; while August 25 – 27 were slated for the funeral ceremony, at Ibadan, of a formost Leader in Disability Community and former Senior Special Assistant to the Late Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, who successfully, took the Disability struggles to the United Nations Headquarters, as peak of his Disability evangelism, shortly before his death, Prince Paul Adelabu, who died last Thursday, 3 days to his 60th Birthday anniversary, which was earlier slated to be held at Disability Centre, Moniya, Ibadan.

May God rest their souls.
