Hijrah: Sanda Encourages Muslims to Embrace Positive Change

‎As Muslims across Oyo State, Nigeria, and the world celebrate the commencement of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448 AH, The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Chairman of All Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State (ALGOS), Hon. Sanda Sikiru has extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all faithful Muslims across Egbeda local government and beyond.
    ‎
The Hijrah marks a significant moment in Islamic history, symbolizing faith, sacrifice, perseverance, and the courage to embrace positive change. It reminds us of the noble migration of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), a journey that teaches us the virtues of patience, unity, righteousness, and unwavering trust in Almighty Allah.‎

As we mark this historic occasion, it is imperative that we reflect on the current security challenges facing our communities, Oyo State, and the nation at large. Rising cases of criminal activities, violence, kidnapping, and social unrest demand collective responsibility and renewed commitment from all stakeholders.
    ‎
‎The lessons of Hijrah teach us that difficult times require prayers, unity, patience, strategic thinking, and unwavering faith. Therefore, I urge all residents, community leaders, religious organizations, youth groups, and security agencies to strengthen collaboration in the pursuit of peace and security.
    ‎
‎We must remain vigilant, provide timely information to relevant authorities, and reject all forms of violence and criminality that threaten our collective progress.
    ‎
‎Furthermore, I call on our dear people to embrace productive ventures, education, entrepreneurship, and community development initiatives rather than allowing themselves to be used as instruments of insecurity.
    ‎
‎As we begin this new Islamic year and reflect on the values of compassion, hope, and unity, let us remember in our prayers the abducted students and teachers of Orire who remain in captivity.
    ‎
‎We fervently pray for their safety, protection, and speedy release, and for strength and comfort for their families during this difficult period.

May Almighty God grant wisdom to the authorities and all stakeholders working tirelessly to secure their freedom, and may peace and security be restored to our communities. Our thoughts and prayers remain with them until they are reunited with their loved ones.

‎May Hijrah 1448 AH usher in a new era of peace, security, unity, and development for Oyo State and beyond.
    ‎
    ‎Happy Islamic New Year.
    ‎
    ‎

    Hon Sikiru Sanda
