The Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Olusola Adeleke has once again demonstrated his deep commitment to the welfare of senior citizens by sponsoring the 2025 end-of-year party of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Retired Primary School Teachers held at the Teachers’ Plaza Hall, Igboora.

The event brought together retired educators from across the local government in an atmosphere of joy, appreciation and fellowship as the beneficiaries celebrated a year of survival, resilience and service to education.

In his message made available by his personal assistant Azeez Sodiq Adesina at the event, Hon. Adeleke acknowledged the immense sacrifices made by retired primary school teachers in shaping generations of Nigerians.

He described them as the foundation of the nation’s educational system and reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to continue supporting their welfare.

The Executive Chairman also used the occasion to commend His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde for the prompt and consistent payment of pensions, noting that the policy has gone a long way in sustaining the lives, dignity and wellbeing of retirees across the state.

    According to Hon Olusola Adeleke…..

Our retired teachers deserve honor, care and recognition. They laid the foundation upon which many of us stand today and it is our responsibility to ensure that they are celebrated and supported,” the Chairman stated.

He further described Governor Engr Makinde as a leader whose governance philosophy places human welfare at the center of development noting that the pension reforms and financial discipline of the state government have significantly eased the burden on retirees and their families.

The Branch chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Comrade Alhaji Adeola Sunmonu expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Adeleke for the gesture, describing it as timely and reflective of his compassionate leadership. They commended his consistent attention to the needs of pensioners and prayed for continued strength and wisdom as he leads the affairs of Ibarapa Central.

The colorful end-of-year celebration featured goodwill messages, entertainment and moments of reflection as participants applauded Hon. Adeleke for once again identifying with the elderly and recognizing their lifelong contributions to society.

Hon. Adeleke reaffirmed that his administration remains committed to inclusive governance that prioritizes the welfare of all segments of society, especially senior citizens who have devoted their productive years to public service.
