The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across the local government and beyond on the joyous occasion of the Eid-El-Kabir celebration.

In his goodwill message, Hon. Alawode described Eid-El-Kabir as a significant spiritual celebration that symbolizes obedience, sacrifice, faith, love, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

He urged Muslims to uphold the virtues of peace, tolerance, generosity, and compassion which the festival represents.
While rejoicing with the Muslim Ummah, Hon. Alawode also expressed deep concern over the abduction of students and teachers in Ogbomoso.

He fervently prayed for their quick, safe, and unharmed release, while calling on security agencies to intensify efforts towards rescuing the victims and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state.
The chairman then called on residents of Ibadan South East Local Government to use the festive period to pray for continued peace, unity, and sustainable development in the local government, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole.

He also encouraged the people to extend love and support to the less privileged, emphasizing that true celebration lies in sharing with others and promoting communal harmony.
Hon. Alawode appreciated the Muslim community for their consistent support, peaceful coexistence, and contributions to the growth and stability of the local government. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, grassroots development, and policies that will continue to improve the welfare of the people irrespective of religion or political affiliation.

The council boss further urged residents to celebrate responsibly and adhere to all safety and security measures during the festivities, while cooperating with security agencies to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration across the local government area.

Hon. Alawode prayed that the blessings and lessons of Eid-El-Kabir would bring renewed hope, divine favour, prosperity, and happiness to every home.
“May this sacred celebration strengthen the bond of unity among us and usher in greater peace, progress, and abundant blessings for our people and our dear state,” he concluded.
