The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode celebrates four years of fruitful and impactful administration in grand style with commissioning of various projects across the local government area and hosting of Primary and Secondary school students of Ibadan South East Local Government who came first in Quiz/Spelling Bees and football competition of CCII 2025 Ibadan Cultural Festival.
Within the four years in office of Hon. Alawode, developmental efforts have been massive in various sectors including construction of Motorable roads. This has greatly improved flow of traffic and opened up accessibility to many areas in the local government.
Insights into some of these roads include that from Oja’ba Mosque to Oranyan Junction, road at Adeyemo Layout, Baba P.F Owa road, Molete.
Also, Asphaltic pavement, overlaying , retaining walls and hydraulic structures of road from CAC Church, Eleta to Academy overhead bridge.
The celebration also featured commissioning of Street Solar Lights at Owoade & Adeleke Community, Felele, Onitiju street, Bello Junction to Felele Police Station, Fajemisin street, Fako Bakery, Assembly street to Felele straight, Onigari and Agbongbon road to Eleta Junction.
In a town hall meeting that followed the commissioning, the people of Ibadan South East Local Government shown their gratitude to the council boss for his commitment to the progress of the council, praised Hon. Alawode for his commitment to community development and effective governance. They acknowledged his transparent leadership style, which has fostered trust and collaboration between the local government and community members.
“It’s refreshing to see a leader who listens to the people and takes action. We feel hopeful that our concerns are being addressed.”, they declared.
In his speech during the programme, Hon. Alawode addressed the people with excitement, thanking them for their support. He described the commissioning as a testament to his commitment to infrastructural development aimed at improving the living conditions of the people of Ibadan South East Local Government.
Reacting to the victory of the Primary and Secondary school students, who were two terms winners of CCII 2024 and 2025 Quiz, essay and football competition, the Arole Omituntun expressed his delight with the victory recorded by them for 2 consecutive years. “I congratulate you and wish you only the best. This is also to say that we are very proud of your wonderful achievements which have helped in showing to other Local Governments that we are the best” He added.
The council boss then promised to continue his administration’s efforts in improving education, health, and infrastructure.
Additionally, cash donations were presented to the outstanding students in appreciation of their significant contribution to the growth and development of Ibadan South East Local Government.
Giving vote of thanks on behalf of the Coordinator, football team Coach and other teachers, the Chairman of NUT in Ibadan South East Local Government, Comrade Taofeek Adediran expressed the inspiration behind the winning of the competitions as the Chairman’s dedication to the youth of Ibadan South East Local Government.

Azeez Saheed Olanrewaju, ANCOPSS representative, Comrade Abiola Williams, the students coordinator, Comrade Olatunde Najeem, the football team Coach, Mr Wasiu Asanke, Director of Administration and General Services, Alhaja Tawakalitu Olufunke Adedotun, Director of Education and Social Services, Alhaja Ganiyat Dasola Durodola, Deputy Director of Education and Social Services, Mr Taofeek Ajibona and many others.
