    Hon Alawode Flags-off Construction of Owode Shopping Complex, Motor Park in Ibadan Southeast LG

    Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government  on Saturday laid the foundation stone of Owode Shopping Complex/Motor Park at Academy area of the council, to be constructed by the Local Government.

    The construction of the shopping complex according to Hon. Alawode, is in line with Governor Seyi Makinde’s Development Agenda, aimed at expanding the vast commercial opportunities that the state offers on account of a fully revitalised economy.

    Hon. Alawode said that it was one of the significant steps that aligned with his administration’s commitment to uplifting the business and economic prospects of the council area.

    ” In line with the principle of urban renewal, our administration has proactively taken up the statutory responsibility of government to envision and plan to accommodate both the immediate and future needs of the people,” He said.

    Hon. Alawode concluded by expressing his appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for supporting the Local Government in numerous ways in ensuring that developmental projects embarked upon were successfully completed without any hindrance at a record time.

    In his own speech, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Teslim Ogundeji said the Shopping Complex/Motor Park, when completed, would serve the teeming traders and business people and contribute greatly to the upliftment of the council area.

    In his remarks, the CEO of Connect Global Resources and Services, Mr Segun Adebanjo applauded the Chairman, Hon. Alawode and the Vice Chairman, Hon. Ogundeji for executing the human capital development project capable of taking the Local Government to the path of progress and prosperity.

    He then reiterated that the market men/women will be the first beneficiaries of the stalls because the shopping mall will accommodate everyone as more people will still come from outside to benefit form it.

    Present at the occasion were the PDP Chairman for Ibadan South East Local Government, Engr. Sulaimon Adesina, Councillor for ward 10 and Chief Whip of the Legislative arm, Hon. Akeem Alarape, Supervisory Councillor for Works and PDP Secretary for Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Azeez Saheed SP, Supervisory Councillor for Commerce, Hon. Saheed Oni, Chief of Staff, Hon. Segun Oludaye, Women leader, Mrs Kudirat Babatunde, PDP Leaders, Alhaji Maroof Elegbaowo, Hon. Bass Balogun, Pa Jagun Omotosho, Babaloja, Pa Adedokun Olanrewaju, Iyaloja, Mama Sherifat Aminu.

    Others were Acting Director of works in Ibadan South LCDA, Engr. Malomo Adewusi, Deputy Director of Works in Ibadan South East, Engr. James Olusegun, Acting Head of Estate, Mrs Titilope Oyeniyi and many others.
