The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, hosted over 200 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members currently serving in the local government area, in a warm reception aimed at fostering mutual understanding and encouraging responsible living during their service year.

Addressing the Corps members, Hon. Alawode described Ibadan South East as a peaceful local government with hospitable residents. However, he advised the Corps members to remain vigilant and avoid association with bad elements.

He emphasized the importance of being security-conscious, letting people know their movements, and refraining from joining gangs or indulging in behaviors they wouldn’t do under their parents’ watch.

“You are ambassadors of your families. Your parents have made sacrifices to ensure you reach this stage. Make them proud by choosing your friends wisely and surrounding yourself with people who understand the reason you are here, which is to serve and build your future,” the council boss said.

In her remarks, the Head of Local Government Administration, Dr. Agnes Olakunbi Ojo, reiterated that the purpose of the gathering was to foster familiarity and ensure the Corps members settle in properly.

She encouraged them to study their environment, be alert, and stay safe, stressing that the council wishes them a peaceful and successful service year.

Also present at the event were the Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Ayodeji Oladepo; Chief of Staff, Prince Olusegun Oludaye; Supervisor for Works, Hon. Saheed Azeez; Director of Administration and General Services, Mr. Kayode Bamgbade; Director of Education and Social Services, Mrs. Modupe Orotoye; Director of Environmental Services, Mrs. Omolola Aransi, Director of Budget, Alhaji Sulaimon Emiola, and Director of Agriculture, Mrs. Yemisi Ogunbode, among other senior officials.
The event was marked by words of encouragement, guidance, and a shared commitment to making the NYSC experience safe and meaningful for all Corps members in Ibadan South East Local Government.
