Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government has assured the Oyo State NYSC of his continual support to the welfare of corps members and prioritizes their security and well-being.
Hon. Alawode stated this during the familiarity visit paid to the council secretariat by the Director of the scheme, Mr Odoba Abel Oche
Arole Omituntun affirmed that the role of Local Governments is critical to the smooth operations of the NYSC because the majority of Corps Members posted to serve in the rural areas support developmental strides, especially through their primary assignments in Schools, Primary Healthcare Centres and other aspects of the national economy.
While appreciating Hon. Alawode on his selfless efforts towards the well-being of Corps members in the council, the Director of Oyo State NYSC, Mr Odoba Abel Oche described the council boss as an Humanitarian Leader with large heart as he is been updated times without number, of his contributions to the welfare of the corps members.
Mr Odoba seized the opportunity to congratulate the council boss on his re-election as the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government for the second time, reiterating that his victory was due to his commitment to the progress of the community.
The NYSC Director then solicited for financial assistance from the council, towards the construction of NYSC Multipurpose hall at the Orientation Camp in Iseyin town of Oyo State.
While commending the NYSC for its achievements over the past fifty-one years, the council boss assured that the Director’s requests would be considered.
In her speech during the courtesy visit, the Head of Local Government Administration, Dr. Mrs Agnes Olakunbi Ojo highlighted the significance of the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, encouraged corps members to actively participate, emphasizing that it aims to make them self-reliant and future employers of labour.
Also present at the occasion were the Director of Education and Social services, Alhaja Ganiyat Dasola Durodola, Director of Administration and General services, Mrs Tawakalitu Olufunke Adedotun, Director of Finance, Mr Abidemi Ogunmakinde, the Local Government Inspector for NYSC in Ibadan South East Local Government, Mrs Ayodele Solomon.
