    Hon Alawode Organizes Sensitization Campaign Against Social Vices in Secondary Schools

    In line with his unwavering commitment to educational advancement and youth development in Ibadan South East Local Government, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode recently organized a critical sensitization campaign to curb the alarming rise of hooliganism, thuggery, and other social vices among secondary school students in the council area.

    The council boss noted that hooliganism and other social vices are on the increase in Nigeria Secondary schools and have been a source of worry to parents, teachers, school authorities, the government and the society at large.

    He stressed the need for students in schools across the state to shun hooliganism, bad gangs and cultism but rather exhibit diligence in their academics.
    “I was once a student like you, with determination you can aspire to perform better, become university graduates and valuable citizens”, he reiterates.

    Hon. Alawode then enjoined Parents to monitor their children’s behaviour and mental well-being, advised Teachers and school authorities to play their part in creating safer learning environments, brace up in bringing discipline back to schools and act swiftly when cases of violence are reported.

    In her own speech, the Head of Local Government Administration, Dr Agnes Olakunbi Ojo urged the students to shun bad gangs, violence and devote more time to academic pursuits necessary to excel in life.

    The security officials, principals and school teachers that were present at the occasion all appealed to government to support them with required implements in their efforts to curb indiscipline among students and pledged to put in place, necessary steps to address the situation.

    Also present at the occasion were the Councillor for ward 6, Hon. Kayode Abifarin, Supervisory Councillor for works, Hon. Azeez Saheed SP, Director of Administration and General Services, Alhaja Tawakalitu Olufunke Adedotun, Director of Education and Social Services, Alhaja Ganiyat Dasola Durodola among others.
