Following his swearin-in for a second term as the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode thanked the people of the council area and the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party for his victory at just concluded Local Government election in Oyo state.
Hon. Alawode also paid tribute to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde for his tutelage politically and support all the time.
The council boss described his resounding victory as a testimonial to the trust and confidence that the good people of Ibadan South East Local Government have in his stewardship and vision to continue with his strides to bring more succor to residents of Ibadan South East Local Government.
Arole Omituntun then pledged not to disappoint his people on the new mandate given him to run the affairs of the council once again as he will consolidate on all his ongoing projects and provide more dividends of democracy to residents of the council.
The swearing in was done by the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Rt.Hon Iyabo Yerima amidst admiration from key Government officials, Political Functionaries and well wishers.
In his address at the swearing in occasion, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barr Bayo Lawal, who represented Governor Seyi Makinde congratulates the newly elected Chairmen and Vce-Chairmen across all the LGAs and LCDAs in Oyo State for their victory.
Barr Bayo Lawal stressed that their victory is an affirmation of trust in their competence, capacity and capabilifty to discharge the responsibilities of the office they are stepping into and reiterates that Local Government is the closest tier of Government to the people so, any gap or shortcoming in its administration will be keenly felt by the people. He then enjoined the reelected council boss to let their policies and programmes be people-oriented, focusing on how to improve the lives and livelihood of the people at the grassroots.
The inauguration reception later took place at the council secretariat, Mapo Hill Ibadan.
The event featured goodwill messages, presentation of Alawode photo frame by the elected Councillors for all the 12 wards in the council area, music and dancing, as well wishers celebrated the Arole Omituntun’s victory in a joyous mood.
In his speech of gratitude, Hon. Alawode applauded the support everyone has given him, promised to put the best interests of his people in mind and will always work on a foundation of respectable values – honesty, integrity and transparency.
