    …Mobilizes Support for Hon Folajimi

In a vibrant atmosphere filled with hope and renewed political energy, Hon. (Mrs.) Olufunke Comforter Adeniyi-Olajide, Member representing Ibadan North Constituency I in the Oyo State House of Assembly, hosted a community-focused event at her constituency office in Yemetu, opposite Police Grounds Field, Ibadan, yesterday.

The gathering marked another milestone in her commitment to grassroots development, community empowerment, and political mobilization.

During the program, Hon. Comforter officially unveiled a new phase of solar-powered streetlight projects, which will serve several neighborhoods within Ibadan North. This bold infrastructure initiative is aimed at improving security, enhancing night-time visibility, and supporting small businesses operating in the evening hours.

In addition, she launched an empowerment scheme for local artisans—especially from the Sentise axis—providing essential tools, financial assistance, and business support to tailors, welders, hairstylists, and other small-scale entrepreneurs. She noted that such empowerment would reduce unemployment and promote self-reliance among youths and artisans in the community.

In her welcome address, Hon. Comforter thanked the crowd for their continuous support and reaffirmed her dedication to delivering people-centered projects. She emphasized that governance must be felt at the grassroots level and that real empowerment is about making lives better.

The event attracted high-ranking political stakeholders and respected community leaders, including:

Baba Nureni Akanbi – Elder Statesman and Member, Oyo State Advisory Council
Baba Ismaila Ashipa – Political Leader, Ibadan North
Baba Agboluaje – Esteemed PDP Elder
Alhaji. S.A Mustapha, Acting PDP Chairman, Ibadan North
Hon. Demola Omotosho – Chairman, Oyo State Housing Corporation.
Hon. Waheed Akanbi (BIIRO), Chairman, Oyo State Waste management Authority.
Representative of Alhaja, Bose Adedibu, PDP Southwest Zonal Woman Leader.
    Chief.Mrs. Tinuade Adelanke (Iyalaya)
Representative of Chief (Mrs) Folashade Abeo, Market Woman Leader

Alongside several PDP Ward Chairmen, Women Leaders, Youth Executives, and Coordinators.

The occasion also served as a strategic political rally to mobilize support for Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), the PDP candidate for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency Bye-Election.

Speaking on his candidacy, Hon. Comforter described Hon. DON as a dynamic, capable, and visionary leader, calling on party members and constituents to rally behind him for total victory. “This is our project. Let’s deliver our constituency to someone who understands the needs of the people and has the energy to serve,” she declared.

Beneficiaries of the empowerment initiative expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, while the crowd erupted in chants of solidarity for both Hon. Comforter and Hon. DON.

The event concluded with a renewed spirit of unity, development, and readiness to ensure a sweeping PDP victory at the polls.
