Lawmaker representing Afijio State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olajide Oparinde, has made a generous donation of N2 million towards the recent general meeting of the constituency.

The donation is aimed to further support various community initiatives and development programmes.

In a statement, Hon. Oparinde stated the importance of unity and collective progress within the constituency.

“Our focus is on uplifting our communities and ensuring that every resident benefits from government initiatives
This donation is just one part of our ongoing commitment to the people of Afijio.”

In a related development, Hon. Oparinde has implemented several impactful intervention programmes in the constituency, demonstrating his dedication to community development.

One significant initiative involved a donation of N2 million to support party activities, with N1 million allocated for various wards and another N1 million for party leaders. This financial support aims to strengthen the party’s presence and effectiveness in the community.

In terms of infrastructure, Hon. Oparinde oversaw the grading of 15 kilometers of farm and city roads, enhancing accessibility for residents and improving transportation for agricultural products.

Additionally, he spearheaded the rehabilitation and filling of potholes at Idi Igba and Benikol Bridge, ensuring safer travel for all.

Water supply has also been a priority, with the drilling of two boreholes to provide clean drinking water for constituents. The initiative addressed the critical need for reliable water sources in the area.

Hon. Oparinde also made significant contributions to education by donating 100 JAMB forms to various beneficiaries, including members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Islamic community, the Isese community, and non-indigenous residents.

The support according to him, is aimed at facilitating access to higher education for young people in the constituency.

Furthermore, skills development training programmes have been introduced, covering areas such as catering, throw pillow making, interior decoration, and the production of liquid soap, disinfectants, and air fresheners.

He said these training sessions empower constituents with valuable skills for economic independence.

In a commitment to health and wellness, Hon. Oparinde has facilitated the National Health Scheme (NHS) for 50 elderly residents aged 55 and above for two years, ensuring they receive necessary medical care.

In the same vein, he has actively worked to facilitate employment opportunities for constituents in both the public and private sectors, helping to reduce unemployment and improve livelihoods within the community.
