Hon. Olalere Solomon (ERE), the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for Akinyele Constituency II in the Oyo State House of Assembly, has felicitated with the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and his wife, Her Excellency, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, on their conferment with the prestigious traditional titles of Aare Soludero and Yeye Soludero, respectively.

The chieftaincy titles were conferred on the Governor and First Lady by the Ibarapa Traditional Council at the palace of the Eleruwa of Eruwa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Adedayo Adeagbola.

In a congratulatory message, Hon. Olalere described the conferment as a remarkable honour and a significant recognition of the Governor and his wife’s contributions to the peace, development and social advancement of Oyo State.

He noted that the traditional institution occupies a respected and influential position in Yoruba society, stressing that the conferment of a chieftaincy title goes beyond ceremony and celebration.

According to him, such an honour represents a public acknowledgement of an individual’s character, service, relationship with the people and contribution to the growth of society.

Hon. Olalere said the recognition of Governor Makinde as Aare Soludero and Mrs. Makinde as Yeye Soludero was particularly significant because it demonstrates the confidence and goodwill that the Governor and First Lady have earned from traditional institutions and communities across the state.

He lauded the Eleruwa of Eruwa and the entire Ibarapa Traditional Council for the recognition, describing the decision as a commendable demonstration of the role of traditional rulers in appreciating individuals who have contributed positively to society.

The APM candidate stressed that traditional rulers remain indispensable partners in the development of Oyo State because of their proximity to the people and their understanding of the aspirations, challenges and cultural heritage of their communities.

He said the traditional institution serves as a bridge between the people and government, particularly at the grassroots, and therefore deserves continued respect, cooperation and support from political leaders and other stakeholders.

Hon. Olalere also commended the relationship between Governor Makinde’s administration and traditional rulers across Oyo State, describing a harmonious relationship between government and the traditional institution as essential to maintaining peace, stability and sustainable development.

He observed that traditional rulers possess a wealth of experience and local knowledge that can assist government in understanding the needs of communities and implementing policies that have direct and meaningful impact on the people.

While congratulating Governor Makinde on his new traditional title, Hon. Olalere acknowledged what he described as the administration’s efforts in various sectors of the state.

He specifically noted the attention being given to infrastructure, education, healthcare, economic development, security and other areas of governance, saying that sustained investment in these sectors remains important to improving the standard of living of residents.

He added that recognition from traditional institutions should encourage political leaders to remain committed to the ideals of service, accountability, peace and development.
