The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has called on Nigerian youth to position themselves as agents of positive change by embracing quality leadership, innovation, and integrity.

He made this call yesterday while addressing participants at the 2025 edition of the Ibadan Eloquent Youth & Teens Conference, held with the theme: “Reformation – Empowering the Next Generation for Impact.”

Speaking as the Chief Guest of Honour at the well-attended youth-focused event, Hon. Olufade appreciated the convener of the programme, Mr. Emmanuel Olayinka, for his commitment to raising a purpose-driven generation.

He praised the array of speakers for their inspiring and impactful presentations, noting that the secondary school students in attendance must have gained valuable lessons from their insights.

Hon. Olufade encouraged the young participants to be intentional about their future aspirations.

“It is not enough to be called the leaders of tomorrow,” he said. “You must be deliberate about building yourselves through knowledge and character.

Read inspirational and motivational books and cultivate the habit of constant learning.”

Among the guest speakers at the event were Oluwanumi Bamitale, Babatunmise Agboola, Mrs. Temitope Momoh, and Akinyemi Ogungbaro, who all delivered inspiring talks.

In recognition of his outstanding display of integrity and moral excellence, Hon. Olufade was honoured with the Global Integrity Ambassador Award. His wife, Mrs. Aramide Olufade, also received an Integrity Award for her unwavering character and positive influence in shaping future leaders.

The event also featured the official launch of a book by the convener, Mr. Olayinka Emmanuel, titled “Reformed for Greatness: For Teens and Young Adults.” In support of the initiative, Hon. Olufade purchased 300 copies of the book, donating 100 copies to the students present and reserving the remaining 200 for wider distribution.

Hon. Olufade further pledged to be a major supporter of future editions of the programme, underscoring his commitment to youth development.

The chairman attended the event alongside a team that included his Chief of Staff, Hon. Hamdy Mustapha; Supervisory Councillor for Special Duties, Hon. Adewumi Adeagbo; Head of Media, Aderibigbe Yisahu; as well as Mr. Taiwo, Olajide Ojoawo (videographer), and Ajibola Olawale(photographer).
