As part of activities commemorating his one-year anniversary in office, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Adeleke Ayodele Olusola has officially commenced the construction of a new bridge across the Opeleke River, a development long awaited by residents of Bansa Ìlúsà Town, Oke-Odo area and the Isale Oba community in Igboora.

For decades, the Opeleke River has posed a major challenge to residents, particularly during the rainy season. With no bridge in place, the area often became impassable, cutting off communities and placing lives at risk. Many people were stranded, unable to reach their homes while farmers found it difficult to transport their produce to nearby markets.

In his message made available by his personal assistant Azeez Sodiq Adesina , Hon. Adeleke described the bridge project as a “crucial response to a pressing need and a bold step toward community safety and rural development.” He emphasized that no resident of Ibarapa Central should continue to suffer due to inadequate infrastructure.

“This bridge is more than a construction project, it is a lifeline. It restores dignity, ensures safe passage and supports the local economy,” he said.

The announcement was met with joy and appreciation from community leaders and members who described the initiative as a long-overdue intervention that reflects the Chairman’s deep concern for the welfare of his people.

As he celebrates one year of impactful leadership, Hon. Olusola Adeleke remains steadfast in his mission to deliver sustainable development and equitable governance throughout Ibarapa Central Local Government.
