Barely three months after his election into the House of Representatives, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DoN), has achieved a major legislative milestone with two key establishment bills successfully scaling First Reading on the floor of the National Assembly.

The bills which includes the Establishment of the Federal Vocational and Skill Acquisition College, Ibadan North, Oyo State and the Establishment of the Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery, Ibadan North, Oyo State

Both bills, when fully passed, are poised to transform access to vocational training, technical education, and healthcare manpower development within Ibadan North and neighboring communities.

Hon. Oyekunle, who emerged victorious in the by-election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following the passing of the late Hon. Musiliu Akinremi (Jagaban), has wasted no time demonstrating his commitment to impactful representation.

His swift legislative action underscores his resolve to continue and expand the legacy of service within the constituency.

Speaking on the motivation behind the proposed institutions, Hon. Oyekunle noted that the Federal Vocational and Skill Acquisition College would empower young people with practical, employable skills to reduce unemployment and stimulate local economic growth.

Similarly, the proposed Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery aims to address the growing shortage of trained health professionals while improving maternal and child healthcare delivery within Oyo State.

The two institutions, once established, are expected to attract significant federal investment, expand educational opportunities, and create new jobs for residents of Ibadan North.

Hon. Oyekunle reaffirmed his commitment to placing education, healthcare, and youth development at the heart of his legislative agenda priorities he described as essential to building a stronger, more prosperous Ibadan North.
