    Hon Sanda Commissions Solar-Powered Borehole in Egbeda

    It was an ecstasy of joy and celebration as the Executive Chairman of Egbeda LG, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele commissioned Solar-Powered Borehole and toilets at Christ Anglican Primary School 1 & 2, Wakajaye in ward 7.

    The leader of the local government legislative arm, Hon Olusola Olakanmi with other members of cabinets represented the chairman of Egbeda local government, Hon Sanda Sikiru Oyedele at the commissioning of projects.

    In his keynote address, urged the beneficiary school and community to make judicious use of the facilities because Health is Wealth for all the residents,teachers and pupils of the community in order to leave a healthy life, a hygienic and clean environment.

    The G.M Oyo State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Alhaji Mumini Adeduntan stated that Oyo State is number three in Nigeria while Ibadanland is number one in Oyo State in the open defecation rating.

    This project is therefore designed to support the actualisation of the Oyo State target for an open defecation free State by 2028.

    He congratulated Egbeda LG for the rare opportunity because out of 33 LGs in Oyo State, only three LGs were chosen in which Egbeda LG was among the beneficiary council area.

    According to the HLGA, Chief Dr Alaga Ayo Monsurat who was represented by the Director of Administration and General Services, Mrs. Modupeola Adekunle educated the community leaders, teachers and pupils on the need for proper hygiene, sanitation and a clean environment, urged them to always take proper hygiene of the toilets and ensure the borehole is well protected from being vandalized by miscreants.

    One of the community leaders at Wakajaye, Mr. Moses Abidogun appreciated the facilitator of the project, RUWASSA officials and Egbeda LG for selecting their community out of numerous communities in Egbeda LG, prayed to God to continue to give the present administration the wisdom to steer the ship of Oyo State.

    Other communities benefitted from the facilities were Seventh Day Adventist School, Erunmu ward1, Olokuta-meji, Osengere.

    Amongst the dignitaries present at the occasion were the Director of water supply , Alhaji S.K Olayiwola, SF&A Mrs Siyanbola, UNICEF Consultant, Mr. Orimoloye Emmanuel, G.M OYORUWASSA, Alhaji Mumini Adeduntan, all other Directors of OYORUWASSA, Director of Environment, Sanitarian Baale Victoria, Super for Environment, Hon. Ayawale Ayanniyi, Deputy leader, majority leader, other councillors, SAs, Headmistresses, School 1&2, community/traditional leaders, environmental officers just to mention a few.
