    Hon Sanda Delivers Goodwill Message at Egbeda Ramadan Lecture

    In the spirit of Ramadan, which is the month of spiritual renewal and rejuvenation, the Executive Chairman of Egbeda local government, Hon Sanda Sikiru Oyedele urged Muslims to be more spiritual renewal and rejuvenation at this year Ramadan lecture held at the local government main secretariat premises.

    Hon. Sanda gave this admonishment at the 2025 Annual Ramadan lecture of Egbeda local government Muslim community themed: The Five Pillars – Islam and Ramadan.


    He noted that Ramadan is a sacred month and a time for deep reflections, renewed faith and act of kindness. Said “As we embrace the values of compassion, unity and generousity by uplifting one another and extend love to those in need, as Egbeda is a peaceful local government and in this season of devotion, may we continue to progress with harmony in our local government and beyond ”

    In her welcome address, the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja Dr. Monsurat Ayobami Alaga said “Ramadan is a period of holiness which people need to admonish and encourage ourselves in the faith. Also a period where people are in constant conversation with God. emphasized the need to continue to ensure that we live in the peace and harmony that Egbeda is known for. A time we all need to come together in prayer and supplications”.

    A guest speaker from the University of Ibadan, Dr. Adams Femi Akeula, in his lecture titled; The Five Pillars – Islam and Ramadan said, the Holy Ramadan is the forth in the five pillars of Islam which is the ninth of the Islamic calendar in which muslim worldwide observe fasting, prayers and study of the Holy Qur’an. It was in this month the Holy Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad(SAW).

    According to him, “the importance of holy month of Ramadan in Islam which is spiritual growth, self discipline and purification is the way to cleanse the body and spirit to gain forgiveness from Almighty Allah”.

    Amongst the eminent personalities present at the Ramadan lecture including Hon. Akeeem Ademola Ige, Chairman LGSPB, Alhaji AbdulRahman Adepoju, Chairman Ibadan North West Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple, Vice-chairman Egbeda local government, Vice Chairman Saki local government, Hon. Olusola Olakanmi, leader of the legislative house, Egbeda LG, Alhaja Dr. Monsurat Alaga, HLGA Egbeda LG, Hon. Temitope Aworele, Secretary to Egbeda LG, Alhaji Adisa Siyanbola, chief of staff.

    Others includes Mogaji Jubril Kola Alaga, HLGA, Oyo West, Hon. Wasiu Emiola, councilors, traditional rulers, Supervisors, SAs, Political functionaries, PDP stalwarts, League of Imam, Ibadan Vanguard Sisters, Mr. Muraina Mahroof, Chairman LG staff Muslim community, Alhaji Salawudeen Ismail, Chairman 2025 Ramadan Committee, Heads of Departments, deputies, unit heads and entire members of staff of Egbeda local government and Ajorosun LCDA.
