The Executive Chairman of Egbeda local government, Hon Sanda Sikiru Oyedele has condoled with the family of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin Ige Olakulehin 1 and the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE on the demise of Olubadan of Ibadanland.

In a statement made available to journalist, Hon Sanda said, “Oba Olakulehin came, saw and conquered by showing exceptional wisdom and fatherly leadership since his ascension to the throne”.

“We are not mourning Kabiyesi but celebrating the legacy he left behind within one year on the throne, he has deepened unity, strength, culture, and upheld the dignity of Ibadanland traditional institution”.

“Oba Olakulehin who was born on July 5, 1935, became the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland on July 12, 2024, following the passing of his predecessor, Oba Lekan Balogun”.

Hon Sanda described the monarch as a symbol of unity and cultural preservation, adding that his leadership has helped to sustain peace and development in the ancient city.

The chairman admonished the bereaved family to take solace in God and trust in Him alone at this trying period.

He prayed that God accept his return and continue to uphold the family Kabiyesi left behind.
