In a remarkable stride toward sustainable development and grassroots transformation, the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon Akinwole Akinleye, has successfully lit up all the 12 wards of Akinyele LG through the distribution of solar-powered lights.

The initiative, which cuts across communities within the council area, is part of a deliberate effort to enhance security, improve socio-economic activities, and promote environmental sustainability. The gesture marks the second phase of the solar light distribution project, further reinforcing the Executive Chairman’s commitment to delivering meaningful dividends of democracy to the people.

Residents across the benefiting wards received the solar lights with overwhelming joy and appreciation, describing the intervention as timely and impactful. Community leaders, youths, and market women alike commended the Executive Chairman for responding proactively to the lighting challenges faced in many parts of the local government.

According to them, the installation of solar lights will not only brighten the streets but also discourage criminal activities and extend trading hours for small-scale businesses, thereby boosting local commerce.

In the same vein, Hon Akinwole Akinleye extended his developmental efforts to strengthening security and essential services within the council.

He officially handed over a newly purchased generating set to the Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun) Akinyele LG Division to enhance their operational efficiency. Another generating set was also presented to Arulogun community to power its borehole, which had been abandoned for a long time due to lack of electricity.

This intervention is expected to restore regular water supply to residents, significantly improving hygiene and living conditions within the community.

The beneficiaries of both the solar lights and generating sets expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Chairman. In an atmosphere filled with excitement and celebration, they sang melodious songs in his honor and offered heartfelt prayers for his continued success in office.

Many described him as a compassionate and visionary leader whose actions clearly demonstrate genuine love for the people. They further likened his leadership style to that of his principal, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, whom they praised for setting a shining example of responsive governance.

Reaffirming his dedication to people-oriented leadership, Hon Akinwole Akinleye assured residents that he will not relent in replicating the impactful and progressive policies of Governor Seyi Makinde.

He emphasized his administration’s resolve to ensure that Akinyele Local Government remains a pacesetter within Oyo State and beyond.

With initiatives such as these, the council continues to chart a path of inclusive growth, infrastructural renewal, and sustainable community development.
