In a bid to strengthen the security architecture of the Local Government, the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon Akinwole Akinleye took a bold step by clearing the criminal hideouts at Aba Odo, Seriki Communities and Akinyele Environs that have been identified as hideouts for Criminals.

The Hideouts were discovered weeks ago and the attention of the Local Government was drawn to the hideouts by the residents of Aba Odo, Seriki  and Akinyele Environs. Upon receiving the report, the Executive Chairman immediately swung into action by sending the security agents to visit the locations to collect relevant information that would help in curbing incessant kidnappings and attacks happening in those communities.

The security agents gave a detailed security report on the hideouts and advised the council to firstly clear the entire areas for easy access; the bushy environments have served as hideouts which criminals were leveraging on to perpetrate evil within the communities.

Relying on the resolution of the Peace and Security Council,  the Executive Chairman swung into action by directing the council management and the joint Security patrol team to carry out the clearing of the thick bushes in and around the hideouts.

The residents went agog on sighting the presence of the council representatives and showered encomiums on the Chairman for his swift response to security related issues and also promise to work collaboratively with the Local Government and relevant security agencies to further foster unity and safer environment in the communities.

While reacting to the feedback from the communities, Hon Akinwole Akinleye reiterated his commitment to ensure that security of lives and properties of his residents are his utmost responsibility.

“Our administration’s primary concern is the security of lives and properties. No meaningful progress can take place where kidnapping, and other criminalities is the order of the day. As we all know, serious investors would like to set up their enterprises in a place where their peace and safety is guaranteed”

“Our administration will not relent until we make Akinyele Local Government a safe place for our people , drive out criminals and make them uncomfortable within the nooks and crannies of Akinyele Local Government”.
