“I am grateful, humbled and honoured by your birthday wishes,” Ibarapakan appreciates well-wishers
Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Adebayo Adepoju, has expressed his gratitude to people on different continents of the world for their message of goodwill on the occasion of his birthday yesterday, January 19.
The lawmaker, in his words of appreciation, expressed how deeply touched he was by the outpour of love, which transcended all boundaries of race, religion and political affiliation.
“Yesterday, as is typical of every living soul, I clocked a year older. The last 82 hours have been filled with mixed feelings for me. On one hand, the unfortunate explosion that claimed lives and property in Adeyi Estate, Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday. On the other hand, the opportunity to celebrate yet another year on earth.
“Prior to my birthday yesterday, I asked everyone to join me in a low-key birthday celebration out of respect for those who lost their lives and property in the unfortunate incident. I know it is a difficult time for my leader, the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde, my state and Nigeria at large, and I sincerely appreciate you all for honouring this call as our state continues to mourn the departed souls.
“The incident is a wake-up call to all of us as countrymen and women to reflect on our security architecture and also assist relevant authorities whenever we see or perceive anything that can endanger lives and throw our country into a state of unrest and pandemonium.
“That being said, I am immensely grateful to my immediate family, colleagues, business and political associates, kinsmen, mentors and mentees who have taken time to celebrate me on the occasion of my birthday. I appreciate this, and it all means a lot to me,” the lawmaker said.
Expressing gratitude to all well-wishers, Hon. (Dr.) Adepoju said the little things truly count in life, adding that all the calls, prayers, encomiums, kind words, best wishes and words of advice will go a long way for him in staying through the common cause aimed at making the world a better place.
“I have read your birthday wishes to me. I feel honoured and humbled to have been celebrated. I take your words to heart, including your commendations and messages of hope in our representation. I promise we will never let you down and I thank you for also seizing the moment to recognise our efforts in different endeavours of life. I will always live up to your expectations and will continue to work hard for the people who gave us the mandate to serve,” he remarked.
