Ibadan Circular Road: 90% of Displaced Residents Voted For Me, They Will Be Compensated But You Can’t Blackmail My Govt’ – Makinde Assures

‘We Don’t Have Documents – Protesters Admit, Beg Gov

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has assured families, landlords and land owners affected and displaced by ongoing construction of Senator Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja Ibadan Circular Road.

The Governor gave the assurance on Friday at the flag-off ceremony of the 32.2km road.

The Oyo State Government has embarked on the demolition of of over five hundred houses to create 500 metre as set back for the road.

Makinde who is currently addressing the protesters at Badeku assured that those affected would  be properly compensated.

“Hold me accountable for the demolition, hold me accountable for it.

“Organize yourselves sector by sector, this is your government, and your government will be responsible for this.

“90% of those affected voted for me in 2023 and ensured my opponent didn’t win any polling unit in all the eleven local governments in Ibadanland.

The protesters echoed to the Governor that they do not have documents backing their demolished properties.
