Member Representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has commiserated with the families of individuals who lost their lives and properties in the massive explosion that rocked Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, yesterday, Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

The lawmaker, while commiserating with the victims on Wednesday, lauded Engr. Seyi Makinde’s swift response, which, according to him, resulted in the instant rescue of victims from the scene of the blast at the popular Adeyi Estate, Bodija, Ibadan.

“It is regrettable to hear about the big bang that rocked the major parts of Ibadan City last night. I commiserate with the families of the victims of this heinous act and those who lost their properties as a result of the blast.

“The prompt response of the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, was critical in the aftermath of the explosion. His swift action in getting victims rescued from the scene and providing support to those who were injured was a great comfort to the community,” the lawmaker said.

Hon. Adepoju also extended his condolences to both the federal lawmaker and state lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency and Ibadan North East II, Prince Musliudeen Olaide Akinremi and Hon. Adebayo Babajide, respectively, over the dastardly blast that occurred in the area, praying for the repose of the departed souls.

The Deputy Chairman House Committee on Federal Character also, in his statement, joined well-meaning Nigerians in the call for a thorough investigation into the tragedy that hit Oyo State and the country at large last night.
