    Ibadan Explosion: Senator Monsurat Sunmonu Conveys Condolences to Gov Makinde, Oyo Residents

    In light of the unfortunate incident of a bomb blast that occurred in Bodija yesterday, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, has expressed her sympathies to Governor Seyi Makinde and the affected residents.

    In a statement personally signed and released to the press from Saudi Arabia where she is currently observing the lesser Hajj, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu conveyed her heartfelt condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde and the people of Oyo State for the tragic incident.

    “The news of the devastating explosion that shook the heart of Ibadan was truly distressing.


    “I am confident in your capable leadership and your commitment to the safety of your people, as evident in your prompt response.

    “This unfortunate incident, which has resulted in loss of lives and extensive property damage, occurred at a time when your administration has invested significantly in enhancing the state’s security architecture.

    “I share the pain and sorrow brought upon the state by this single occurrence.”

    While expressing her sincere appreciation to the law enforcement agencies, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu called on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or movements in their surroundings.

    She emphasized that this would assist the government and security agencies in preventing similar incidents in the future.

    “I stand in solidarity with all the victims. As gatekeepers, we will continue to support Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration with the necessary measures to prevent such occurrences.”

    She offered prayers for the swift recovery of those receiving medical treatment and urged strength for those who have lost their loved ones.

    Furthermore, the former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, urged Oyo State residents to always speak up whenever they encounter anything that could endanger their lives.

    She emphasized that this would help security agencies to act diligently and prevent further incidents.
