The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has conveyed his deepest condolences to the families affected by the tragic incident at the Ibadan Children’s Funfair.

In his statement made available through his head of media, Aderibigbe Yisahu Ajibola, Hon. Olufade expressed profound sadness over the unfortunate event that resulted in the loss of young lives at Basorun Islamic High School.

“This tragedy has left our community in deep sorrow.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the families who have lost their precious children, and my thoughts are with those who are injured and recovering,” he said.

He commended the immediate actions taken by the Oyo State Government, highlighting the efforts of the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, who quickly deployed medical teams and emergency responders to the scene.

Hon. Olufade underscored the necessity of meticulous planning and coordination for events, especially those involving children, to ensure such tragedies do not happen again.

“Ensuring the safety of our children is paramount.

We must adopt stringent measures and protocols to prevent such heartbreaking incidents in the future,” he emphasized.

Hon. Olufade also prayed for the eternal rest of the departed souls and for strength and comfort for the bereaved families.

He called on all stakeholders to work collaboratively to safeguard the well-being of children in all community events and activities.
