“Developing education is an important mantra every successful Ibadan citizen should contribute to as it’s a safe way of securing the future of our community”.
These were the words of Ibadan philanthropist, Rotarian Akande Kazeem Babatunde as Local Government officials in Ido joined him in sharing reading and learning materials to students at his various designated tutorial centres where he is organizing free coaching for the students across the wards in Ido Local Government earlier this week.
Dr Akande, who has been in the forefront of delivering humanitarian services in Oyo state, most especially in Ido Local Government spoke to media persons, students, and local government officials last week at the commissioning of this education project.
He is also currently sponsoring a WAEC and JAMB coaching classes to assist students in senior secondary classes to prepare for their exams.
While at the commissioning, Akande told local government officials who are in office and those contesting later in the week to ensure that education is at the core of their agenda for Ido Local Government.
He promised that as he has always done, he will always support educational initiatives irrespective of who is in office.
The chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon Sheriff Adeojo and councillors lauded the efforts of Akande and praised his commitment to bettering Ido Local Government.
He said Akande is an inspiration to all government officials and they are all learning from his project planning and execution skills.
He also wished candidates the best at the elections and congratulated the students who received the educational materials.
