
It was a moment of joy, appreciation, and heartfelt tributes as the management, staff, family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered to celebrate the retirement and 60th birthday of the Director of Education and Social Services, Mrs. Victoria Modupe Orotoye, at Ibadan South East Local Government, Mapo, Ibadan.



The colourful event attracted dignitaries from within and outside the local government service who came to honour the celebrant and acknowledge her years of dedicated service, exemplary leadership, and commitment to educational and social development.



In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, commended Mrs. Orotoye for her diligence, professionalism, and the cordial working relationship they enjoyed during the period they worked together. He expressed appreciation for her invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the local government and wished her a fulfilling and prosperous retirement.


Colleagues, friends, and family members took turns to share glowing testimonies about Mrs. Orotoye’s exceptional character, dedication to duty, humility, and motherly disposition. Many described her as a dependable leader, mentor, and a source of inspiration whose impact would continue to be felt long after her retirement from active service.
The Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Dr. Mrs. Agnes Olakunbi Ojo who was on leave, sent her good will message describing Mrs. Victoria Modupe Orotoye as a responsible, humble, diligent, and God-fearing woman whose dedication to duty and exemplary character have left an indelible mark on the Local Government service.
Dr. Ojo noted that although they worked together for a relatively short period, she greatly enjoyed the cordial and productive relationship. According to her, the pleasant memories of their time together will remain with her for a long time.
Responding, Mrs. Victoria Modupe Orotoye expressed profound gratitude to God for His faithfulness throughout her career and life journey. She also thanked the Executive Chairman, management, staff, family members, friends, and all guests for honouring her with their presence, prayers, gifts, and goodwill messages. She noted that the overwhelming show of love and support would remain unforgettable.
Among the dignitaries present at the occasion were the Chief of Staff, Prince Olusegun Oludaye; the Majority Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Akeem Alarape; the Supervisor for Works, Hon. Azeez Saheed Olanrewaju; the Head of Local Government Administration, Egbeda Local Government, Dr. Mrs. Monsurat Ayobami Alaga; the Acting Head of Local Government Administration, Ibadan South East Local Government, Sanitarian Omolola Aransi, NULGE Executives, Director of Administration and General Services, Mr Kayode Bamgbade, Director of Finance, Mr Abidemi Ogunmakinde and other Directors from Ibadan South East Local Government, Ibadan South LCDA and other local governments who had worked with Mrs. Orotoye at different times in her career, as well as her children, family members, and numerous well-wishers.
The event was filled with goodwill messages, prayers, presentation of gifts, entertainment, and memorable moments in honour of a distinguished public servant whose legacy of service will continue to inspire others.
