Ibarapakan Attends Community Reception for the First Professor in Idere

On Saturday, December 16, 2023, Honourable lawmaker Representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, attended the community reception organised in honour of Prof. Adebayo Oni on his promotion to the rank of Professor of Ruminant Animal Nutrition, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).

Hon. Adepoju arrived at the venue of the event with his entourage shortly after the programme was declared open on Saturday.

The Ibarapa-born politician cum technocrat was received at the event amid pomp, celebration, greetings and praise for his style of good representation by the residents who were also at the event.

In his remarks at the reception, the lawmaker, who was also the special guest of honour, extolled Prof. Adebayo Oni for making the constituency proud, praying for more good things to come to the constituency, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

Congratulating the constituency and Professor Oni, Ibarapakan said being the first Professor in Idere Community is no mean feat, expressing his joy in identifying with Prof. Adebayo, the Onidere of Idere, whom he described as his father and the entire sons and daughters of the community.

“This is a momentous achievement for both the community of Idere and Nigeria at large. Professor Oni’s hard work and dedication have led to this well-deserved recognition, and we are honoured to be part of this celebration.

“It is also my utmost wish that this will not be the last of the good things to happen to the community, and I am equally confident that Professor Oni’s elevation will result in the development of not just Ibarapa but Nigeria as a whole.

Chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who followed the lawmaker to the community reception were Elder Olanrele Kolawole Salako (Great Mother), Hon. Remi Ayoade and others.

The reception was well attended by professors, academics, traditional rulers, community members and dignitaries from all walks of life.
