Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has commenced the full renovation of Igangan Town Hall in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The commencement of the long-anticipated project kicked off on Monday, January 5, 2026, following an earlier press statement issued in 2025 by the lawmaker’s office, which signalled his readiness to upgrade and renovate the existing facility into a modern town hall, vocational and examination centres.

Speaking on Tuesday, Hon. Adepoju said the project was conceived to provide a multifunctional facility that would serve youths, students and residents of Igangan.

“My vision is primarily to have a fully equipped modern town hall, vocational and educational centres, all in one, where teeming youths, including students and residents, can have their social events, different vocational skill acquisition programmes and examinations such as JAMB can be conducted seamlessly,” he said.

Ibarapakan explained that the delay in the commencement of the project was caused by funding constraints and the non-implementation of the 2025 budget in which the project was captured.

He noted that although the 2025 budget had not been desirably implemented, the Igangan Town Hall renovation remained high on the constituency’s scale of preference and was initiated with funds belonging to the contractor pending the release of funds by the Federal Government to its agency under which the project is domiciled.

Hon. Adepoju appreciated the patience and understanding of the people of Igangan, describing the project as one that would promote socioeconomic development in the community.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character added that the constituency would witness more infrastructural, educational and social development once the 2025 budget is fully implemented.

He also urged residents of Igangan to actively monitor the progress of the renovation to ensure quality delivery and timely completion.
