As Christians around the world celebrate Easter, member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has appealed to Christians across the country to use the occasion to renew their faith in God and unite for national and collective growth.

According to Hon. Adepoju on Sunday, April 5, 2026, Easter marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ and serves as a reminder of God’s love, mercy and the power of faith in the face of adversity.

He noted that the season symbolizes the importance of strong faith, hope and perseverance, stressing that even the seemingly impossible can be achieved by adhering to these enduring virtues.

In his Easter message, Ibarapakan described the period as an opportunity for gratitude and togetherness, urging Nigerians to come together with loved ones in a spirit of peace and hope for a better and more prosperous Ibarapa Land, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.

The lawmaker stated that Nigerians, including political officeholders, must imbibe the spirit of humility and selfless service if the nation is to experience meaningful development.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character emphasised that the significance of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for mankind cannot be overstated. He encouraged citizens to draw strength from the power of faith, regardless of the challenges they may be facing, noting that although the nation is going through a difficult period, hope remains that there will be light at the end of the tunnel through citizens’ collective efforts to drive the country forward.

He stated that Easter is not only a celebration of Christ’s resurrection but also a call to serve humanity with utmost selflessness. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue sustaining religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North.

The Ibarapa-born politician cum technocrat called on people of all religious faiths to continue to pray for Nigeria and its leaders, especially as the nation approaches another election season, urging that there be no room for war, violence or any act capable of destabilizing the peace, progress and coexistence of the country.

The lawmaker also used the occasion to reassure constituents of his continued commitment to implementing people-oriented programmes and policies that will have direct and meaningful impact on their lives.

He, however, disclosed that as part of activities marking the Easter season, the Ibarapakan Easter Picnic is scheduled for the 13th of this month, where Christians and people of other religious faiths across the constituency will gather to engage in meaningful discussions on the development of the federal constituency.
