Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has commenced renovation of Igboora Grammar School Hall, at Oke Ayin, Igboora in Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of Oyo State for the purpose of equipping the building with a set of computers for constituency use.

The project, a pragmatic effort by Hon. Adepoju to bring an end to the ignominious era of “Computer Centre without Computers” in the Federal Constituency.

The principal of Igboora Grammar School, Mr. Taiye Obe, on Monday, February 10, 2025, received the contractors in charge of the project for assessment of the venue.

Mr. Obe appreciated the lawmaker for deeming it fit by bringing the impactful project to Isale Oba for the benefit of all the Ibarapa people. He also noted that the impact of the project when completed will be felt by all the youth and those who are willing to be computer literate in the federal constituency, thereby improving the constituency’s test/performance score, level of education attainment and awareness of global trends.

Commenting on the project, Hon. Adepoju said that the project was facilitated to enhance skill acquisition, economic growth, entrepreneurship support, career development, research support and his ongoing initiative on digital inclusion. The lawmaker said the project is in furtherance of his empowerment programme on digital skills, which, according to him, commenced in August 2024.

He expressed his delight over the project, highlighting its impact and significance on both the old and the young, students, teachers and community members of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character expressed satisfaction with the pace of work, contractors and supervisors handling his other ongoing projects of erection of solar streetlights in the Igangan community. Construction of classrooms at Igangan High School, Igangan and Maku Grammar School, Tapa; installation of transformers in Pako and Oke-Iserin areas, thereby bringing power to over seven hundred residents and new buildings, the Greenhouse project, etc., saying active community participation plays a critical role in society’s growth and development.

Dr. Adepoju also expressed immense gratitude to his principal and leader, Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde, for his leadership and support in ensuring dividends of democracy reach the grassroots. “When all arms of government work together in service to the people, development as well as democracy is always sustained.” The lawmaker made this statement relative to the great job noticed and being carried out by the two local government chairmen within his jurisdiction.

He, however, commended Hon. Olusola Adeleke of Ibarapa Central and Hon. Lateef Adebare Lawal of Ibarapa North for the visible developmental strides in both local government areas and urged them to continue on the progressive path of not reinventing the wheel but doing those simple and impactful things that enhance growth, increase the per capita income and standard of living of people and spur development.
