Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has donated the sum of five million naira (N5 million) to party executives and political functionaries in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas during the official unveiling of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

The unveiling ceremony was held on Thursday at Methodist Primary School, Oke-Agogo, Igbo-Ora, where party leaders, stakeholders and political functionaries gathered to formally welcome the alliance between the PDP and APM in the two local government areas.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Adepoju commended party leaders and loyalists in the constituency for their steadfast support for Seyi Makinde. He explained that the unveiling was organised to officially introduce the APM to party members and stakeholders across the constituency.

He also narrated the circumstances that led to the emergence of the APM and assured party faithful that the party remains a strong political force ahead of future elections. Hon. Adepoju praised Governor Makinde for his visionary leadership, noting that his approach made it possible for the party to conduct its primaries peacefully, without rancour or bitterness.

According to him, some political parties that have conducted their primaries are already witnessing disputes, with multiple aspirants laying claim to victory, a development he described as embarrassing and unhealthy for any serious political party.

In his address, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Olusola Adeleke, expressed that the opposition APC had planned to prevent candidates loyal to Governor Makinde from contesting in the next election. However, he said the political wisdom and strategic leadership of the governor frustrated such plans.

Hon. Adeleke urged party faithful to remain united regardless of past disagreements or misunderstandings, stressing that the collective goal is to secure victory for all APM candidates in the 2027 general elections, from the presidential to the State House of Assembly polls.

He added that sustaining political success would create opportunities for party members and ensure continuity in governance and development.

Also addressing party leaders at the gathering, former Oyo State House of Assembly member and former commissioner, Hon. (Mrs) Funmilayo Orisadeyi, said the introduction of the APM was aimed at charting a new course for the development of Nigeria, Oyo State and Ibarapa Land as a whole.

She noted that the time to reposition Nigeria is now and commended Governor Makinde for his commitment to a genuine democratic process.

At the unveiling were Hon. Monsuru Oduola, Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on Constituency Matters, Hon. Gbade Akinlolu, APM party chairman for Ibarapa Central, Hon. Olayiwola Ojoogun, Hon. Sola Adeleke, Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central, Hon. Lateef Adebare Akorede, Executive Chairman of Ibarapa North, Hon. Rasheed Babarinde, Executive Vice Chairman of Ibarapa Central, Hon. Bisi Akande, Executive Vice Chairman, Ibarapa North, Elder Eyinade Elejire, Elder Olanrele Kolawole (Greatmother), Hon. Remi Ayoade, Hon. Rasheed Okunlola, Hon. Rufai Oladejo, former caretaker chairman, Ibarapa Central, Hon. Saubana Oladokun, among others.
