Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has extended his warm congratulations to Muslim faithful on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging them to continue to pray for peace, unity and progress in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

In a statement issued to commemorate the Islamic festival on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the federal lawmaker described Eid-el-Kabir as a season of sacrifice, love, compassion and total submission to the will of Allah. He urged Muslims to uphold the virtues of tolerance, peaceful coexistence and kindness towards one another during and after the celebration.

The candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency for the 2027 general elections called on the Muslim Ummah and residents of the state to remember Oyo State in their prayers, especially regarding security concerns and the safe return of the school children kidnapped in Orire community recently. According to him, collective prayers and support for security agencies remain necessary in overcoming insecurity across the country.

The technocrat cum politician also appealed to Nigerians to pray for peaceful political engagements as the country gradually moves towards another general election season. He stressed that politicians across party lines must embrace peace and unity as essential tools for nation-building and democratic growth.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character prayed that the forthcoming elections in the country would be conducted without violence, bloodshed or crisis, adding that the stability of Nigeria should remain the priority of every political actor and stakeholder. According to him, sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and mutual respect.

Speaking on the current economic realities facing citizens, the lawmaker acknowledged the hardship many Nigerians are going through as a result of harsh economic policies and rising cost of living. He prayed for divine intervention and expressed hope that the nation would soon overcome its present challenges for the benefit of the masses.

The Ibarapa-born lawmaker also noted that his annual Eid support initiative through the distribution of rams, bags of rice and cash gifts worth N15 million to selected Muslim faithful across Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency was aimed at supporting beneficiaries during the festive season. He expressed optimism that the gesture would bring joy, relief and happiness to many families celebrating Eid-el-Kabir.

He stressed that he is personally in the constituency to celebrate the festive period with his people, noting that beyond representation, it remains important to identify, rejoice and share memorable moments with constituents during special occasions such as Eid-el-Kabir.

While wishing Muslims a peaceful and fulfilling celebration, Ibarapakan enjoined residents of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency to remain law-abiding, conduct themselves peacefully during and after the festivities and continue to work together for the unity and development of the constituency.
