Member representing Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has felicitated with Muslims in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North over the commencement of the month Muharram, marking the beginning of the new Islamic calendar of 1446 AH.
While congratulating good people of the religious faith on the first Islamic month, on Sunday, July 6, 2024, the lawmaker urged Muslims to use the opportunity to pray for the continuing success of the federal constituency, Oyo State and Nigeria in general.
In his message, Hon. Adepoju acknowledged the power of seeking divine intervention during difficult times, advising Muslims to continue to display the teachings and way of life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), whom he described as a symbol of patience and tolerance.
“The very essence of our existence is to love, impact and meaningfully contribute to the lives of others. Prophet Muhammad exemplified these virtues in his lifetime despite all the difficulties he faced from every quarter, yet he was determined, a trait that people from different continents of the world now accept as a way of life.
“As we mark the first Islamic calendar, we should be reminded that no sacrifice made with a pure mind ends up being in vain. Let us continue to be selfless in everything we do for the peace, growth and prosperity of Nigeria,” Ibarapakan stated.
The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character also reaffirmed his commitment to listening to all religious institutions in the federal constituency for the sustainability of the age-long co-existence that exists among the people of different religious faiths in the two local government areas of Oyo State.
