Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has returned unopposed as the consensus candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election.

The stakeholders’ meeting, held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital where consensus candidates emerged across the three senatorial districts in the state took place between Thursday and Friday, extending into the early hours of Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the presence of key party stakeholders, including His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde.

At the meeting, Hon. Adepoju emerged as the PDP consensus candidate for Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency due to his exceptional legislative performance, which has brought unprecedented achievements to the constituency since 2023, as well as his unalloyed loyalty to the party at the local, state and federal levels.

Speaking shortly after the meeting, Hon. Adepoju expressed his gratitude to his leader and mentor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his support and belief in him. According to the federal lawmaker, the consistent support of Governor Makinde before, during and after the 2023 general election has been nothing short of remarkable. He also commended the Oyo State Governor for his ongoing efforts toward the development of the state.

The Ibarapa-born lawmaker cum technocrat also dedicated the second-term ticket to his political leaders and constituents in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency for their support.

“I want to use this moment to dedicate this second-term ticket to all my political leaders in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency and to my ever-loving constituents, without whom I do not know where I would be today. It is through your support that my first term in office was possible and through your continued support as well, I believe that the plans we are making today will be fruitful.

“Words alone cannot express my appreciation to everyone who has made this day possible, including my beloved family, friends and supporters, far and near. It is my prayer that our finest dreams always come true,” he said.

The federal lawmaker also seized the moment to congratulate all PDP candidates who have emerged so far and urged those who were unable to secure the party’s ticket not to lose hope, but rather to work in the overall interest of the party to achieve landmark victories in 2027 for the PDP. He expressed confidence in Governor Makinde as a leader who rewards effort and never reneges on his promises.
