Ibarapakan Writes IGP, Requests for Adequate Security Protection for Judges and Magistrates in Ibarapa
Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has written to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, requesting the provision of adequate security protection for members of the judiciary in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency of Oyo State.
The lawmaker’s swift action is in response to the concerns of citizens in the constituency who have expressed worry about the continued absence of judges and magistrates in the area.
In the letter to the IGP dated July 17, 2024, Hon. Adepoju lamented that judges in the Oyo State High Court, Igboora Division and their Magistrate Court Counterpart have not been sitting regularly due to the fear of a lack of security.
Ibarapakan said that the perpetual absence of judges and magistrates had affected the dispensation of justice in the federal constituency, noting that the deplorable phenomenon has negatively affected his constituents.
He, however, urged the IGP Egbetokun to use his good office to urgently grant his request in the interest of peace, justice, stability and good governance in his constituency.
