Member Representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has bagged the award of Excellence for Exceptional and Inspiring Achievements in Quality Representation at the 2023 Ibarapa Youths Award held in Eruwa, headquarters of Ibarapa East Local Government.
The maiden edition of the initiative took place at the popular Awojobi Event Centre, Eruwa, on Sunday, December 17, 2023.
The Ibarapa Youths Awards and Social Impact Initiative is an annual event designed to honour and celebrate the exceptional achievements of young indigenous individuals in Ibarapa Land. It serves as a dedicated platform to promote excellence, hard work and dedication among young individuals while giving back to the community.
Hon. (Dr.) Adepoju made a grand entrance to the event hall with the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss. Wasilat Adefemi Adegoke, Hon. Bashorun Saintabey, Hon. Tokunbo Adewale Toriola and their entourage at the commencement stage of the event.
In his remarks as the chairman of the occasion, Hon. Adepoju expressed gratitude to the organisers of the initiative for organising such an epoch-making event for the unity and development of Ibarapa Land.
While reflecting on his academic journey from bagging an ND, HND, PGD, Bsc, MBA, Msc and PhD, Hon. (Dr.) Adepoju advised the youth at the award programme to never give up on their dreams and never settle for less in anything they do in life.
The lawmaker also reaffirmed his commitment to youth development, adding that a better and more prosperous Ibarapa is possible if the youth are given the necessary support to showcase the exceptional abilities they possess, emphasising the need for unity and cooperation in Ibarapa, despite any kind of differences that may exist between its various communities.
“From Lanlate to Igangan, we are one; our focus should always be on what unites us rather than the things that can divide us. We may have differences in so many areas of life; it is all normal, but we must always be on the same page on the things that are capable of making Ibarapa a united geopolitical zone with visible transformative development; this is not just about us but the yet-unborn generations as well,” Ibarapakan said.
In recognition of his impressive leadership style and contributions to the development of Ibarapa Land and Nigeria at large, the lawmaker was presented with the Award of Excellence for Exceptional Excellence and Inspiring Achievements in Quality Representation.
Commending on the award, the lawmaker said the award is dedicated to Almighty God, the good people of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North for their continued support and Engr. Seyi Makinde, whom he described as one of the true architects of modern Oyo State and whose administration in Oyo State has given the youth constituency the courage and chance to make a difference in the lives of the people.
