Ilaji 91.9 FM, Ibadan, has announced the appointment of renowned Yoruba actor and cultural icon, Chief Fatai Oodua, popularly known as Lalude, as its new Brand Ambassador.



The announcement was made during the station’s weekly “Oorelope” programme, a humanitarian-focused initiative sponsored by Chief Engr. Jubril Dotun Sanusi, the Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland and proprietor of Ilaji Resort Global, the parent company of Ilaji 91.9 FM.


The programme, which focuses on extending support and bringing relief to members of the public, is anchored by Comrade (Dr.) Segun Ogungbayi and Mogaji Alawode Rahmon Akintunde.




Making the announcement during Lalude’s appearance as a guest on the programme, Ilaji 91.9 FM Consultant, Dr. Segun Ogungbayi, described the veteran actor as a distinguished personality whose contribution to Yoruba entertainment, culture and indigenous storytelling has earned him widespread recognition.


According to him, Lalude’s appointment reflects the station’s commitment to celebrating individuals who have contributed significantly to the promotion of Yoruba culture and entertainment.
“We are delighted to announce Chief Fatai Oodua Lalude as a Brand Ambassador of Ilaji 91.9 FM. His contribution to Yoruba culture and the entertainment industry is remarkable, and we believe his values and personality align with the vision of Ilaji,” Dr. Ogungbayi said.
He further announced that Lalude would be formally decorated as Brand Ambassador on Saturday, October 17, 2026, during a grand celebration at Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Ibadan.
The event is expected to bring together prominent personalities from the entertainment industry, traditional institutions, media, business and other sectors to celebrate the veteran actor and his new role with Ilaji 91.9 FM.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Fatai Oodua Lalude expressed appreciation to Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi and the management of Ilaji Resort Global and Ilaji 91.9 FM for the honour.
The legendary actor pledged to embrace the appointment with great responsibility and to use the platform to further promote the values of Ilaji 91.9 FM, Yoruba culture and the entertainment industry.
“I sincerely appreciate the owner of Ilaji Resort Global, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, and the entire management of Ilaji 91.9 FM for this honour. I do not take this appointment for granted. I will take the opportunity with the highest esteem and give my best to the brand,” Lalude said.
The appointment further strengthens the growing relationship between Ilaji 91.9 FM and Nigeria’s creative and cultural community, as the station continues to position itself as a major platform for Yoruba language, entertainment, culture, community development and humanitarian service.
The management of Ilaji 91.9 FM has therefore invited listeners, fans, industry stakeholders and members of the public to look forward to the grand unveiling and decoration ceremony scheduled for October 17, 2026, at Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Ibadan.
