Ilaka Sympathises With Victims, Families Of Ibadan Explosion, Commends Oyo State Govt. For Quick Response

 

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Oyo state, Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka on Wednesday expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, people, and government of Oyo State over an explosion in the Adeyi, area of Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo state capital.

Some major part of Ibadan was a blackout on Tuesday night over a massive explosion that occurred at about 7:44 pm yesterday, 16 January 2024. The unfortunate incident resulted in death and injury to residents in the vicinity and also affected properties.

According to the state Governor, Seyi Makinde, who has been busy relocating the victims since the incident happened; it is said that a preliminary investigation revealed that explosive devices stored by illegal miners led to the explosion on Tuesday night.

In his statement, sympathizing with the victims, Ilaka the Ladilu of Oyo kingdom who is also a former chief of staff to Governor Makinde, FNSE, prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased . He thereafter commended the state government for its swift response and comprehensive medical attention given to the surviving victims.

” My heart goes out to all those affected by the Bodija, Ibadan Explosion. who have experienced such disheartening occurrences.

” My deepest thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families in the wake of this devastating loss.

” To the families and the neighbors grappling with unbearable loss, we are here to say you are not alone.

” May God Almighty comfort us all, give a speedy recovery to the injured, and May the souls of those who lost their lives Rest In Peace”, Ilaka stated.
