    … Reaffirms Loyalty to Makinde

Former Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Governor and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oloye Oyebisi Ilaka, has firmly denied report suggesting his defection from the party.

Ilaka, a prominent figure in Oyo politics and the Ladilu of Oyo Kingdom, confirmed this on Friday.

He reiterated his unwavering commitment to the PDP, stressing that he has no intention of abandoning the platform that has defined much of his political career.

“I remain a bonafide and loyal member of the Peoples Democratic Party. The rumours making the rounds about my defection are entirely false and should be disregarded by the public and party faithful,” Ilaka said.

Ilaka, who contested the Oyo Central Senatorial seat under the PDP in the 2023 general elections, called on his supporters across the state to remain calm and resolute, urging them not to be distracted by the report of his purported defection move.

He also reaffirmed his support for the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde and pledged to continue working for the progress and unity of the PDP in Oyo State.
