International Peace Day 2020:Oyo SDG Boss, Kunle Yusuf, Civil Society Group Call for Peace, Gender Equality
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Makinde on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Hon Kunle Yusuf MON has urged residents of Oyo State to embrace peace in all their dealings. He noted that without peace, it is impossible to go far in life.
Kunle Yusuf stated this during a road walk organized by Civil Society Group at the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan. The event which was in commemoration of this year’s International Peace Day with the theme “Living Safe Together, Shaping Peace Through Gender Inclusive Policy”
He added that without peace, the present administration may not be able to actualize the good plans it earmarked for the citizens.
On her part, the state coordinator for West Africa Network for Peace Build, Mrs Ijeoma Ladele said peace is a collective responsibility which must be entrenched in our different communities. Ijeoma called on the government to promote gender balance which will enhance peace and development.
