Iseyin APM Stakeholders Reject Fadiran’s Second Term Bid, Warn of Mass Defection Over Alleged Marginalisation

….Threatens to Leave Party if Fadiran Emerged
    ‎
‎‎The Coalition of Stakeholders for SEYI/BIMBO 2027 in Iseyin has rejected the reported second term ambition of the incumbent Chairman of Iseyin Local Government, Hon. Fadiran Rasaq Bisi, alleging that the continued concentration of key political positions in Isalu Ward amounts to marginalisation of other parts of the local government.
    ‎
‎In a statement issued on Sunday and made available to journalists, the coalition called on Governor Seyi Makinde and the leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) to ensure fairness, equity and inclusiveness in the distribution of political offices, warning that failure to address what it described as a growing imbalance could trigger a mass defection of members ahead of the 2027 general elections.
    ‎
‎According to the coalition, Hon. Fadiran has remained a major beneficiary of government appointments and elective positions since 2006.
    ‎
‎It stated that he served as Secretary of Iseyin Local Government during the administration of the late Governor Adebayo Alao Akala between 2006 and 2007, Chairman of the Iseyin Local Government party structure from 2011 to 2015, Special Adviser on Trade and Investment between 2019 and 2023, Coordinator of the Iseyin Local Government Campaign Directorate during the 2023 elections, and currently serves as the Executive Chairman of the council.
    ‎
‎The stakeholders further argued that the concentration of political offices in Isalu Ward has created an unhealthy political imbalance in Iseyin. They noted that the immediate past Local Government Chairman, Hon. Osuolale Muftau Abilawon, hails from Isalu Ward, while the current House of Assembly candidate is also from the same ward.
    ‎
‎They maintained that returning Hon. Fadiran for another term would further deny other wards and zones the opportunity to produce the council chairman.
    ‎
‎Speaking on behalf of the coalition, the group said, “We are not against any individual or personality, but we strongly believe that justice, fairness and equitable distribution of political opportunities are essential for the unity and growth of our party. No single ward should continue to monopolise strategic elective and appointive positions while other wards remain perpetually sidelined.”
    ‎
‎The coalition insisted that its position was driven by the need to preserve harmony within the party and prevent avoidable discontent among members who have remained loyal over the years.
    ‎
‎”This is a struggle for fairness, justice and equal representation. Every ward in Iseyin has competent and qualified individuals capable of leading the local government. It is only fair that other zones are given the opportunity to contribute to the development of the council through the office of the chairman,” the statement added.
    ‎
‎The stakeholders appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde, the leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement and other influential leaders in the state to intervene and ensure that the chairmanship ticket is ceded to another ward in the interest of equity and party cohesion.
    ‎
‎”We therefore appeal to Governor Seyi Makinde, the leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement and all critical stakeholders to intervene in the interest of peace and fairness.”
    ‎
‎The group maintained that If their concerns are ignored and the chairmanship ticket is once again retained in Isalu Ward, the coalition members will be left with no alternative but to collectively review their political future ahead of the 2027 general elections.
