The Executive Chairman of Iwajowa local government area of Oyo State, Hon Oyewumi Muritala Abiodun has promised to run an all inclusive governance that will be fair to every stakeholder at the grassroot.
Hon Oyewumi gave the assurance on Friday shortly after he was sworn-in as the Executive Chairman of Iwajowa local government.
The council boss promised a more dynamic strategy that would facilitate effective delivery of democratic dividends at the grassroot through implementation of his policy document that would impact on the lives of the citizens positively.
Hon Oyewumi Muritala Abiodun expressed his gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for setting a precedent that has put an end to caretaker arrangement in Oyo State.
He equally appreciated his political father and an ally of Governor Seyi Makinde, Deputy Governor, Adebayo Lawal, Barrister Adeniyi John Farinto for who for his support before, during and after the council polls.
Oyewumi also appreciated his political leader and brother, Hon Hakeem Adedibu who is the Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency.
The Executive Chairman highlighted areas of focus which includes, security, education, health, infrastructure, welfare of citizens, among others.
“Some eleven months ago when we started the struggle for the restoration of the lost glory, first as a Council and second as a party with largest and widest membership in Africa, the series of challenges encountered were massive but surmountable because of the kind of support given to us by the people.
“First of all, I must show gratitude to Almighty Allah for His guidance, mercies and the opportunity of living to witness this day in good health.
“I must also appreciate His Excellency Engineer Seyi Abiodun Makinde the Executive Governor of Oyo State for given us the privilege to be part of this success story under Omituntun 2.0
“Again, I want to specially appreciate my political father, Hon. Barr. John Adeniyi Farinto who ultimately believe in us that we can actually build on his records of achievement as the Executive Chairman of this dear Local Government.
“How can I forget the unusual backings and support from my leader and brother, Hon. Hakeem Adesina Adedibu (Serubawon). This man and Hon. Farinto lowered their shoulders for me to see farther in politics, I promise to remain eternally grateful.
“On behalf of myself, the Vice Chairman and the Councillors I want to really appreciate all our leaders for their unflinching support before, during and after our election. You have truly demonstrated through your support that youths can actually take charge, lead and deliver even under temperate political weather.
“Today, we are here to set the record of Restoration for everyone, both young and old to feel the presence of government in Iwajowa. It is not always all about sharing the dividends to individuals or groups, but about putting things where it should be and correcting all wrongs in a technical manner.
“Leadership is all about shared vision and responsibility. We are undaunted, focused, determined and ready to face those challenges before us in order to deliver our Restoration Agenda in line with His Excellency’s vision of greatness for Oyo State.
“On Security of lives and properties of our people: this new administration will work tirelessly to ensure a safer Iwajowa. This is because without a secured environment, businesses can not thrive and the economy won’t grow.
“Once again, I must reply to the yearnings of our people that there will be a massive overhauling of our infrastructures across this dear Local Government Area during our administration. Through this, we shall ensure uneven transformation in Health sector, Education, better welfare for local government workers and rebuild our party (PDP) to become more stronger and better so as to accommodate new members.
“Ladies and gentlemen, before I end this speech I want to appreciate the good people of Iwajowa Local Government for voting us and believing in our capacity and capabilities to lead them, I shall strive to preserve and protect your interests for the growth and development of our dear Local Government.
“To the Iwajowa LGA Council of Obas and Chiefs, we really appreciate you for standing by us before, during and after the election.
“To the Iwajowa Local Government League of Imams and Alfas, the Christian Association of Nigeria, Iwajowa LGA and the traditionalist, we sincerely appreciate your prayers.
“Let me appreciate my family, the Baale Ayede family, my father, mother, brothers and sisters for their love and prayers. To my dear wife, I really commend your efforts. Also, to all the party youths, the Campaign Council, the Restoration Team and everyone here present, we say thanks so much for your support.
“The time of politicking is gone and must be thrown behind us so as to achieve our set goals.”
