Following the directive of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, for party leaders across the various local governments to meet and deliberate on the choice of candidates for the forthcoming local government election, leaders of the All Progressives Movement (APM) in Ibarapa North Local Government met in Ayete today.


At the meeting, the leaders deliberated on the choice of the party’s candidate for the chairmanship position in the forthcoming local government election.


The meeting had in attendance:




- Hon. Orisadeyi Funmilayo (Former Commissioner for Local Government & Former House of Assembly Member, Oyo State)
- Hon. Tunde Adegbenjo (Former House of Assembly Member, Oyo State)
- Hon. O. Majekodunmi Aborode (Former Commissioner for Environment)
- Mr. Mathew Olayiwola Ojoogun (Party Chairman)
- Alh. Sarafa Babarinde (Ayete Overall Leader)
- Hon. Billiaminu Okesooto (Leader and Former Chief of Staff, Ibarapa North)
- Alh. Ganiu Ogundeji (Former Party Chairman and Current National Delegate)
- Mr. Azeez Saminu Ohio (Leader, Igangan)
- Alh. Badmus Dauda
- Hon. Ajekiigbe Kayode
After extensive deliberations, seven out of the ten party leaders endorsed the incumbent Vice Chairman, Hon. Bisi Akande, as their preferred candidate for the chairmanship ticket.

The endorsement represents a clear majority decision of the leaders who participated in the meeting and reflects their confidence in Hon. Bisi Akande’s leadership capacity, experience, and commitment to the development of Ibarapa North Local Government.
With this endorsement, Hon. Bisi Akande has emerged as the preferred choice of the majority of APM leaders in Ibarapa North for the chairmanship position.
