Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akinyele Local Government have denied reports alleging that Hon. Victor Olojede was endorsed as the party’s consensus candidate for Constituency 2.
The party leadership described the earlier report as false, misleading, and not representative of the outcome of its deliberations, insisting that no such decision was taken in favour of Olojede.
It would be recalled that an earlier publication claimed that Hon. Victor Olojede, who serves as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde, was unanimously endorsed during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held at the party secretariat in Moniya.
However, in a swift reaction, the Akinyele PDP leadership moved to correct the narrative, stressing that the information circulating in the public space was inaccurate and should be disregarded by party members and the general public.
Speaking on behalf of the leaders, the Secretary of leaders in Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Abideen Akintola, categorically stated that Hon.
”Victor Olojede was never an aspirant in the race for the Constituency 2 ticket.”

“Only four aspirants indicated interest, one of them is the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency and Olalere Solomon emerged as the consensus candidate.”
Akintola further clarified that Hon. Olalere Solomon is the duly recognized consensus candidate, having emerged through consultations and agreement among key stakeholders within the party.
He therefore called on all party members to remain united and rally behind Olalere Solomon, emphasizing that cohesion and collective support would be crucial to the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.
